The Cultivated City was an exhibit prepared for Columbia University’s End of Year Architecture Show. The installation displayed the work of the students in Marc Tsurumaki and Marc Kushner’s Spring 2008 architecture studio. The installation occupied a busy corridor in Columbia’s Avery Hall and was comprised of a faceted pegboard wall of displaying student work in a variety of mediums. The centerpiece of the exhibit was a large map of a portion of New York City made up of over 4000 plastic forks, calling attention to the studio site in Red Hook as well as the project’s theme of urban agriculture and the City’s food supply.
This project was done in collaboration with the members of Marc Tsurumaki and Marc Kushner‘s Spring 2008 architecture studio at Columbia University.
